fashion drawf.

brooches that moved out of home.

jess of the small, round table.
12th of june, 2011, selling brooches at South Yarra Market,
getting some brooches into some new homes.

thanks to people who have said nice things/picked them up/liked the shininess/or the colours
visited the stall/were interested in how they were and are made/
thought about whether the brooches might like to live on something yellow, or red, or other.

it made me feel good.

i'm going to try it all again soon.

and a big thankyou to David, Lucie and Dianne
for letting me photograph your brooches in their new homes.

South Yarra Market!

hello!

i have been doing ceramics at uni,
and have been making little face brooches,
inspired by some little face drawings.

and i am going to choke a bit upon parting with them,
but they are all like "jess, there are so many of us, we don't want to compete for your
attention. either wear all of us at once,
or find us new homes where we will get lots of love and attention."
they have a point.

so i'm going to try to give some of them new homes THIS SUNDAY
when my friend Dianne and I will be sharing a stall at the
South Yarra Market,
South Yarra Market 2 Oak Place, South Yarra
the market is on facebook
and tumblr
if you want something to look at and click on and browse.

here are some things i have made which are for potential selling
(also! some pictures from the incomplete stage and some other ceramic things are here)

*deep breath*:

i got pretty carried away with photos. the last picture shows a medium sized brooch.
ie. some bigger, some smaller.
(i almost declared 'some bigger and some larger'.)

description!:
clay.
all shaped and painted by hand,
some with faces scraped with a sewing needle,
some underglazed and glazed,
some just bisque fired and un-coloured.
all happy, even if their facial expressions are deceptive.

i would love to see you there!
